Alameda Corridor BID Discover Alameda Wayfinding Sign Survey
Thank you for agreeing to participate in the Alameda Corridor BID Discover Alameda Wayfinding Sign Survey. The first phase of wayfinding signage will be on vinyl wraps on existing backup electrical boxes at the Alameda intersections at Allison Parkway, Vance, Teller, Saulsbury, Pierce and Harlan. The second phase will include additional signage in the interior of the Belmar area.
The objectives of the Discover Alameda Wayfinding program are to: 1) promote walking and cycling on the Alameda Corridor using approximate 20-minute segments; 2) communicate direction for visitors to major landmarks on and adjacent to Alameda; and 3) help brand ACBID.
We are requesting your input on the information communicated by the signs.
The content of information on the signs must be clear, consistent and concise.
Criteria for the wayfinding destinations and maps are as follows:
Included are civic destinations such as parks, plazas, government and cultural destinations and The Belmar District, etc. Retail and commercial will be indicated with a symbol but names of individual businesses are not included because of the potential change-out over time and lack of space to include all.
Signs will have QR codes allowing visitors and residents to scan on their smart phones and access further information.
The design of the Wayfinding Wraps connects with the red sandstone seen throughout the corridor as a consistent background. The intent is to not distract from the art wraps already in place.
There will be space at the end of the survey for you to write additional comments.
