Your Voice in Crime Prevention: Roundtable for Alameda Businesses

Calling all Alameda commercial property owners and business owners!

The Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District and Alameda Connects invite you to a Crime Prevention Roundtable to directly engage with the Lakewood Police Department, in a dedicated space for a proactive, productive dialogue focused squarely on the safety of your Alameda-based business. You’ll meet with the ACBID and Lakewood Police on WEDNESDAY, October 29, at First Bank Belmar, 550 S. Wadsworth, on the SECOND FLOOR. PLEASE RSVP SO WE HAVE ENOUGH CHAIRS.

Bridging the Gap Between Concern and Action

Our primary topic will be the Perceptions and Realities of Crime along Alameda, informed by the findings of our recent business safety survey. This survey, sent to over 500 businesses, offers valuable insights into crime trends in the area.

While the data shows many businesses have serious safety concerns, we received only 24 responses. This indicates a gap—and this roundtable is your chance to bridge it. We need to understand why businesses might feel a sense of “emotional burnout” that leads to disengagement. More importantly, we’ll discuss simplifying the reporting process and building stronger trust and collaboration with the police.
