Established in 1989, The Gift House is a family-owned collectible gift store located here in Lakewood.  The Johnson family’s first shop was in the Villa Italia Mall (now Belmar). They started off selling trolls on a cart in the middle of the mall. The business was successful and “grew up” and moved into a small store next to Foley’s (in the Villa Italia Mall). After a few years, they continued to grow and moved into a much larger store across the hall from Foleys (which is now Dick’s Sporting Goods at Belmar). Before they knew it, they were selling popular collections such as Hummel and Precious Moments.  When Villa Italia closed, The Gift House moved to the Fairfield Commons Shopping Center at 1st and Wadsworth and called that location home for 17 years.

August 2018 marked a homecoming for The Gift House.  They relocated their store to Belmar (the former Villa Italia Mall) and are now open at 334 S Teller Street, next to Ted’s Montana Grill and across the street from Lane Bryant.  They estimate that they are probably 200 feet from the store they had in the former Villa Italia Mall across from the Foleys.  Talk about a homecoming!  They continue to provide a wide selection of fine gifts and collectibles, including popular lines such as Charming Tails, Cherished Teddies, Department 56, Hummel, Jim Shore, Precious Moments, Swarovski and much more!  Stop in and visit soon – the Johnson family is sure you will be able to find the perfect gift for your loved one. In fact, you may end up treating yourself to something special!
