Allie’s mission is to champion our local businesses, celebrate the vibrant art and history found throughout the corridor, and advocate for a more sustainable future for our community.
What Is An Allosaurus?
Millions of years ago, Allosaurus roamed what is now Colorado. They are one of the many dinosaur fossil types found near Morrison, Colorado, in the area now known as Dinosaur Ridge. Geologist Arthur Lakes first found Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, and Apatosaurus bones there in 1877.
Most of these dinosaurs stuck to hunting and general prehistoric chaos. Allie had other interests. After wandering down from the foothills near Dinosaur Ridge, she discovered something surprising along Alameda: Coffee shops. Live music. Local art. Outdoor patios. And absolutely no other dinosaurs. Naturally, she decided to stay.
Exploring with Allie
Now Allie the Allosaurus is the unofficial (but very enthusiastic) explorer of Alameda. With her tiny arms and very big curiosity, she’s on a mission to find the best local bites (she’s working on portion control), discover new businesses, share cool dinosaur facts, and remind everyone that Colorado has been interesting for a very long time.
She may be 150 million years old, but Allie believes in modern ideas: Shop local. Support community. Take selfies responsibly. If you spot a dinosaur along Alameda, don’t panic. It’s probably just Allie checking out another neighborhood favorite.
